WHAT RESULTS HAVE YOU ACHIEVED? In 2015 and 2016, Katherine prepared concept papers and proposals resulting in over $15M in awarded grants for at-risk youth education and workforce development, youth literacy and STEM activities, public information services at a corrections facility, historic landmark building renovations, health research, and nonprofit operations. Katherine presented grant seminars to 413 individuals from 236 organizations in Western PA and nationally. WHAT TYPES OF PROJECTS DO YOU PREFER? Katherine specializes in planning and preparing proposals for complex projects and campaigns involving multiple funders. While she enjoys writing for all types of projects, her #1 cause is promoting public health and mental health as an essential aspect of quality of life in our communities. She is a Federal grant reviewer for traumatic stress initiatives with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. Katherine was one of eight individuals selected from 40 national candidates to serve as a 2012-13 SAMHSA Voice Awards Fellow.
HOW ARE YOU INVOLVED IN THE COMMUNITY? Katherine is informally and formally involved in national and regional initiatives that are making a difference in quality of life in our communities. Being a mission-driven business means that Heart Resources, LLC acts in an ethical and socially-responsible manner in all aspects of our operations and client relations, and prioritizes projects according to potential impact. Heart Resources, LLC invests a portion of our time and resources in building mutually beneficial collaborations that may or may not result in company profits.
